June 2010

Letter from the President

Hot enough yet? Wow and it's only June. Everyone seems to be talking about the active seasons we have encountered so far, so I hope you are all doing well.

We have had some great turnout to our general meetings, and I expect our July general meeting will be well received once everyone learns of the location and the speaker. Watch your mailboxes and the association website for more details.

May 2010

Letter from the President

The days are getting warmer, but the Formosan termites haven't quite swarmed. If you are like the rest of us, that is a mixed bag. There is an increase in general pest control activity with the warmup, but our area hasn't seen the evening swarms yet. The alate monitoring stations haven't captured any great quantities in the their light traps yet either.

March 2010

Letter from the President

I know it is hard to believe that we are already in March. I don't have to tell everyone how much we are ready for the cold and rain to give way to the warmer breezes of spring. Termites have swarmed a little, but none of us have seen the explosion we are all expecting is just around the corner. We are anxious to see the results of this year's upcoming alate study and we will update you once the season is over and get the report.

Letter from the President:

Well, February is here and here with a bang. Or at least a nice snowfall. Who'd have thought we would have snow in February here in the Capital Region? Then again the Saints won the SuperBowl. WHO DAT!!!

Letter from the President

2010 is here and what a way to start it off. With sub-freezing temperatures we all began to wonder if we were no longer living in south-central Louisiana. The good news is that we are hopeful the severe cold of January and heavy rains of December will make for an active swarm season.

Association Update - August 2009

Association Website:
I would like to take a few moments to update everyone on what is going on with the website. I have added another enhancement that will allow us to embed Google Maps(r) in an event listing. You can go to the site and few the four events that I have added embedded maps. This should be a nice feature for anyone and everyone that might not know where an upcoming board or association meeting, class, or training session will be held. I hope you find it useful.
